We have worked alongside Kylemore for over ten years, developing various new brands and a contemporary look for the Kylemore Food Group. This period has seen the introduction of the successful fresh and contemporary-looking offers which have led the way for a more modern, holistic look.

The Kylemore Food Group required the development a new food court and radical brand diversion from what was the existing café offer. The new design concept, called 'Foodlife', has been introduced in Kylemore's 12,000 sq ft flagship café at St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre in Dublin. Following an investment of over 2 million euro ,café Kylemore, now re-branded as Kylemore, has been transformed to become the flagship of the Kylemore Group. Based on a foodcourt concept, this new approach, will cater for a variety of tastes, in a dynamic, trendy environment.

The newly created foodhall offers a number of food options ranging from a traditional full 'Meaty' Irish breakfast to a 'Leafy' salad, finishing off with 'Naughty' cream cakes. The introduction of informal language into the branding created by Douglas Wallace brings welcome relief to a potentially very busy customer area.

Foodlife has a prime location within St Stephens Green Shopping Centre, which itself is located in Dublin's primary shopping district, overlooking Grafton Street. The new foodcourt occupies the first floor of the glass domed corner site overlooking the picturesque St Stephens Green Park.

Because of the prominence of this location, a planning strategy was adopted focusing on circulation patterns and taking typical customer behaviour into consideration. Feature point areas were identified within the existing architecture. These were key areas that could be developed into stimulating visual draws to help the flow of traffic throughout the space. A gigantic, 'Polo' shaped, light installation within an existing void space punches through the mezzanine floor. This is strategically positioned so as to entice customers out of the Choice Zone and into the different types of seating areas quickly, thus relieving customer traffic in the busiest areas.

The Lounge area on the mezzanine level has an area furnished with 'executive' sofas. It has been designed to cater for customers who have a bit more time to either relax with cup of coffee or meet a business partner for an informal meeting within a calm atmosphere. The introduction of a free wireless internet facility further enhances this idea.
