This 1800 square metre project continued the tradition of integrating sports and recreation into life on this Galway campus. The Pavilion is situated to the west of the main campus in an area called Dangan.

The design incorporates moveable perforated screens over ground floor glazing and high level slot windows allow light filtration whilst also providing protection. Internally a 75m long corridor runs the length of the building, which is the central circulation space. Reception is central along the corridor acting as a control point. Clever use of this 7m high central corridor and changing roof levels have provided an additional 125 square metres of bonus office space, discreetly hidden at first floor level.

The use of form and pattern with basic building components makes this an exciting and interesting building. A rich tapestry of tangerine orange and burgundy panels introduce colour and pattern to the inclined wall. The clean sharp exterior with its protective screens and slot windows contrasts with the vibrancy of an internal street.
