"It is our belief that the creative work we do should take place place in surroundings that exude creativity. In our brief to Douglas Wallace we emphasised this theme and the design team have accomplished this admirably"
Mark Keaveney, Peter Mark

Having worked with Peter Mark since 1988, we have developed a deep understanding of how their business needs to operate. Using a continually evolving design concept we are constantly working on keeping the Peter Mark brand ahead of the constant changes in the marketplace.

This ongoing design process has resulted in the creation of over 40 premises. Each salon is individually designed using the Peter Mark livery thereby reflecting the company's corporate image. The salons interiors are expected to last up to 10 years and this is reflected in the high quality materials used in the salon design.

The design for the Peter Mark salon in Main Street, Swords, County Dublin won the Design Retail Space award at the IDI Design Awards in October 2003. Our most recent design is located in the recently opened Dundrum Town Centre. This space offers an unprecedented quality of service with a design unlike anything that has gone before.

The location of this new salon had a major impact on the design strategy for Douglas Wallace. By the nature of it's location the focus was always on creating a space that emphasised the unique service and quality of the environment.

The salon allows for scenics views of the Dublin Mountains from within and the site itself offered both a challenge and opportunity for the design team in that it features unusual floor to ceiling glazing. The design team maximised available heights and utilised the shopfront glazing to position the Peter Mark branding in a location which was in the sightlines of potential customers walking below.

Dundrum Town Centre was, from its inception, pitched at the high end of the market and therefore it was crucial to create a presence and a look that showed off the Peter Mark brand, a beautiful haven in which customers could retreat from the bustle of the main centre.

In the Dundrum salon, Peter Mark have introduced Shiatsu Indian head massage and elements reflecting a spa environment as part of their offering. Distinctive electronic back massage and hair wash basins offer a level of service that also fed into the salon design, which in turn aims at creating a space which emphasises the quality of the service on offer.
