This project involved the design of short-term corporate office accommodation for the accountancy firm PwC. The design brief was to carry out an environmental design project at its Tara Street offices in Dublin. The objective was to provide staff with the highest quality accommodation possible based on the premise that they wanted to give people the kind of space they need to do their job.

The design solution had the 12 partners and directors accommodated in offices in open plan areas, ensuring that they remain connected with their teams. Glass screens are used to ensure a critical visual link between partners and directors and their teams of staff. Their rooms were designed to be acoustically private. While these dividers facilitate privacy, they also complement the openness of the office.

Nine further 'quiet' rooms were configured, enabling staff to work in private. One of the most challenging aspects of the internal design work was the IT management requirement. Two different cable systems had to be installed and required two different desk styles. Visual synergy was attained through the use of identical desktops. This design enabled PriceWaterhouseCoopers to meet the confidentiality needs of their clients' business yet retain open communication and visibility working as a team
