Virgin Active, the health and fitness group, signed and agreement to acquire Holmes Place’s UK business, comprising of 47 clubs in the UK with a membership of around 190,000. With the help of Douglas Wallace, the majority of the Holmes Place clubs were rebranded prior to the end of the 2nd quarter of 2007. This process involved furniture, IT, lighting, wall and floor finishes both to the gyms, studios and pools and the group signs. Each club was also evaluated and attended to individually as its members and location could dictate its own special requirements.
This project has now created one of the UK’s most profitable health and fitness operations with a total of 165 health and fitness clubs in the UK, Italy, Spain and South Africa and over 900,000 members.
